Terms of Service

Version: 3.0 Effective date: August 7, 2026 Please read these Terms carefully before using Koubo Prompter. Koubo Prompter is provided and operated by Peng Xixu (彭惜徐, the "Operator," "we," or "us"). These Terms apply to the iOS, Android, and WeChat Mini Program versions of Koubo Prompter. 1. Acceptance and Scope 1.1 You may use basic features, including standard teleprompting and editing scripts stored on your device, without registering an account. Before you register, sign in, or use a specific online service, the relevant page will ask you to read and accept the applicable terms. 1.2 By selecting "Agree," registering, signing in, or using the relevant service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, do not register, sign in, or use that service. This will not affect basic features that may legally be used without an account. 1.3 Features may differ across platforms because of operating system capabilities. The description shown in your current version controls. 1.4 Download and use of the iOS App from the App Store are also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These Terms primarily govern the App features and services between you and the Operator. If there is a conflict concerning the software license granted through the App Store, the applicable mandatory Apple terms control. 2. Services 2.1 The App may provide script editing, local drafts, standard teleprompting, camera teleprompting, floating teleprompting, picture-in-picture teleprompting, landscape teleprompting, Wi-Fi remote control, feedback, free trials, and displays of membership benefits. 2.2 Camera, caption generation, overlay, picture-in-picture, and Wi-Fi remote features depend on your device, operating system, service region, permissions, and network environment and may not be available on every platform or in every region. 2.3 The iOS App offers auto-renewable membership subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchase. Product availability in your country or region is determined by the actual App Store and purchase-page display. Paid features on Android, the WeChat Mini Program, or another platform are offered only when that platform clearly displays an available product, price, term, and payment entry. 2.4 We may adjust the services to maintain security, fix faults, or comply with law and platform requirements. We will provide reasonable and prominent advance notice of changes that materially affect users' rights. 3. Accounts and Security 3.1 App accounts may be registered with a username and password. The WeChat Mini Program may use WeChat sign-in. We process a phone number, nickname, avatar, or similar information only when needed for a feature and when you actively provide or authorize it. 3.2 Keep your account, password, and signed-in devices secure. Do not rent, lend, sell, or transfer your account or impersonate another person. You are responsible as provided by law for losses caused by your voluntary disclosure of credentials. 3.3 If you discover unauthorized account use, contact us promptly using the details at the end of these Terms. 3.4 You may request account deletion in the account center. After deletion, the server account and associated data will be deleted or anonymized under the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Records that must be retained by law will be restricted during the required retention period. 4. Scripts, Drafts, and Recordings 4.1 You retain your rights in scripts, photos, audio, and videos that you lawfully create or are authorized to use. Using the App does not transfer copyright in that content to the Operator. 4.2 Scripts and drafts are currently stored primarily on your device. Registering, signing in, or signing out does not automatically upload local drafts. Back up important content. Uninstalling the App, clearing data, device damage, or changing devices may cause local content to be lost. 4.3 Camera, microphone, and photo-library data are processed only when you actively record or save content. If you actively select "Generate Captioned Video," the App temporarily extracts audio from the video on your device and sends that audio directly to Tencent Cloud Speech Recognition. The complete video is not uploaded to our application server or Tencent Cloud Speech Recognition for this purpose. Recognition results are used to generate the captioned video on your device, as further described in the Privacy Policy. 4.4 The current Wi-Fi remote service transmits a room code, connection role, and scrolling commands, not the text of your script. Do not disclose your remote code to untrusted people. 4.5 You must not use the App to create, store, or distribute unlawful content or infringe another person's copyright, image rights, reputation, privacy, or other lawful rights. 5. Device Permissions 5.1 Camera and microphone permissions support camera teleprompting and video recording. Photo-library permission saves videos you choose to record or generate. Android overlay permission displays the teleprompter above other apps. A foreground service maintains floating teleprompting that you start. Network access supports sign-in, configuration updates, caption or speech recognition, remote control, feedback, and advertising requests on platforms that support advertising. 5.2 Except for basic network access, permissions are requested when you use the corresponding feature. You may refuse or later disable a permission. Refusal affects only that feature and not basic teleprompting that does not require it. 6. Free Use, Advertising, and Membership 6.1 Standard teleprompting and local script editing are provided under the Free Use Statement. Enhanced features, including camera and floating teleprompting, may have free time or use limits as shown in the App. 6.2 The current iOS App does not request or display commercial advertising and does not initialize the Umeng advertising SDK. If Android or the WeChat Mini Program offers rewarded advertising, you may voluntarily watch an ad for the additional benefit expressly shown on the page. Declining an ad does not affect basic features that do not depend on advertising. 6.3 iOS membership products are auto-renewable subscriptions. The product name, benefits, term, local-currency price, renewal terms, and cancellation method are governed by the purchase page, the App Store confirmation page, and the Membership Services Agreement. Apple processes purchases, charges, and refund requests under its rules. 6.4 We will not force a purchase through misleading buttons, preselected options, or hidden pricing. 7. Acceptable Use You must not use the App for unlawful activity, compromise network security, disrupt the services, evade reasonable use limits, create accounts in bulk, falsify ad results, or unlawfully obtain non-public source code, interfaces, or data through reverse engineering. This clause does not improperly restrict interoperability, security research, or other activities permitted by law. 8. Intellectual Property Except for content in which users hold lawful rights, intellectual property in the App's software, interface, icons, documentation, and related technology belongs to the Operator or the applicable rights holder. Without authorization, you may not copy, sell, rent, or use them commercially beyond the extent permitted by law. 9. Availability and Liability 9.1 We take reasonable measures to maintain service security and stability, but internet services, device systems, and third-party platforms may be interrupted. We will make reasonable efforts to repair faults and reduce their impact. 9.2 Liability for interruptions caused by force majeure, telecommunications failures, device compatibility, or third-party platforms will be determined under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. 9.3 The App is an assistive teleprompting tool. We do not guarantee recording quality, content revenue, commercial results, or approval by a third-party platform. Use your own judgment and keep backups of important content. 10. Violations If reasonable evidence indicates a violation of law or these Terms, we may take necessary and proportionate measures, including a warning, restricting the relevant online feature, or suspending or terminating an account, and will explain the reason. Except for urgent security action or where law provides otherwise, a reasonable appeal channel will be available. 11. Minors The App is not specifically directed to children under 14. Minors should use it under the guidance of a guardian and obtain the guardian's prior consent before account registration, advertising on a supported platform, or paid services. Personal information of minors is handled under the Privacy Policy. 12. Updates We may update these Terms because of feature, legal, or regulatory changes. Ordinary updates will identify the new version and effective date. Material changes to processing purposes, payment rules, or liability will be notified prominently, such as through an in-app notice, and we will obtain consent again when required by law. Updates will not have unreasonable retroactive effect. 13. Governing Law and Disputes 13.1 For users in mainland China, these Terms are governed by the laws of mainland China. For users elsewhere, mandatory consumer and data-protection laws of your place of residence that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected. 13.2 The parties should first attempt to resolve a dispute through good-faith consultation. If no resolution is reached, either party may bring a claim before a court with lawful jurisdiction. This does not limit a consumer's right under applicable law to seek relief from a court or regulator in the consumer's place of residence. 13.3 Contact and complaint email: 120040718@qq.com.
